Well, another school year is rapidly careening towards the finish line. It won't be long and I will be laying on the pool side, sweating and watching my kids jump off the diving boards. Nevermind that it is April 6th and we have a freeze warning tonight. (Rolling my eyes).
We have really had a wonderful year.

I am so blessed to watch our children establishing friendships with each other. Last week, one of our families was out sick. Another little girl missed her friend and while she was at Target with her mom shopping, she found a stuffed animal that she just KNEW her friend would love. So they bought the toy and she brought it to co-op the next Friday. What a sweet gift to give a friend that had been sick. What thoughtfulness. These kinds of stories are a blessing to us as parents. We praise God for the life opportunities HE has provided inside the teaching moments this year.
If you are knew to homeschooling and reading this blog, keep reading! I have some information to share about our classes that will be helpful to everyone who may be considering joining a co-op. We've had MANY famlies come and take tours this school year. I'm praying God builds us up with loving and caring homeschool families. I'm praying that God goes before us and helps us care for our children in the best way possible.
So here's the deets (as my teens would say)...

OUR CLASSES:
We have 1st and 2nd hour, lunch time, and 3rd hour. We have classes for all ages (high school is depending on numbers for enrollment). Our first 2 hours are Science and Language Arts (this is a change from History in the past) and our last hour of the day is electives that change each quarter. Electives are not listed specifically on our registration because the parents take turns teaching and really are the ones that create the classes. We love to involve the parents in this way. It gives us a variety of classes and experiences for the kids.
OUR FEES:
There is an enrollment fee of $100 (this can be broken up into 2 payments per semester). This will be due at the beginning of August once an account has been set up for payment. The Science and Language Arts classes are $30/month/student. The electives are a material fee set by the teacher/parent. We do a background check on every adult each year and the cost is $10. We also give back to the Cross Church for allowing us to use the space by collecting $30/family/semester for cleaning fees.
WHAT IF I HAVE QUESTIONS?
There is a contact us button at the bottom of the Classes tab. Fill out the information and we will be happy to email you back! I'm also. happy to provide my phone number to anyone who would like to ask general homeschool questions or specific co-op questions. I have been homeschooling for 17 years at this point. My journey has been unique and I happy to share what I know.
OUR GOALS:
Living Stones Academy is a homeschool co-op - a group of families that are homeschooling and sharing a portion of teaching. We have learned that a community makes life more fun! A community provides support for so many aspects of teaching. Children get to learn from other moms in a Christian environment that prioritizes the heart of the child. Together, we foster relationships, navigate learning differences, and build each other up with prayer and encouragement. We truly feel that we couldn't homeschool without each other. Where one is weak, another is strong. We would love to include you too!
In HIM,
Jessi
